But the Tag Heuer Monaco is by far my favorite watch. It just looks classy without being ostentatious like other luxury watches.

I feel bad now that my taste has been viewed as ostentatious

If I could get away with wearing anything other than a smartwatch... and had several thousand extra dollars...

...Nope, I'd still get a Miata. But I love this watch.

The Heuer Monaco (the one in your picture) is much prettier to me than the current Tag Heuer Monaco. Also, McQueen wore the Heuer, so it's instantly badass. (like you so rightly pointed out)

It's very nice, but not quite my kind of thing. This is more me:

Just a bit more than I'm spending on watches right now ;)

I was referring to those oversize watches like some of those Hublots. I like Rolex, Tag Heuer and Breitling mostly.

Kinja'd!!! Where have all the lightweights gone? > Nighthawkwill7, Hoon Depot Manager

The want is very strong in my eyes since I tried one on. It's heavy enough for you to know it's there, but not heavy enough to weigh your arm down.

yeah I agree totally. The Tag isnt a bad watch, but the early versions are cleaner in typeface and the cases seem to have better machining quality

I've only seen a few Monacos that really did anything for me. I seem to remember one with a brown face that looked quite nice. As nice as they are, Square faces and leather bands are two things I really don't get excited over.

That being said, I'd much prefer it to any of those 3" thick carbine-action paratroopa-dive-a-chronographs with a compass in the stock and this thing that tells time. I'm looking for a watch, not a wrist weight.

I think if you could afford a watch like this, you'd also be able to afford a Miata to go with it.

I don't know about that. I just like nice simple watches. The Tag Heur is a great-looking watch, but, well, it's alright if you're Steve McQueen or a rocket surgeon or something, but it's a bit much watch for anyone with an office job...

Too many luxury watches are ostentatious. Like this Hublot LaFerrari thing.

I would love a Breitling. Pretty please? And they're all oversized on me since I don't usually wear women's watches. My current goto watch is a citizen aviator. So cliche.

Picked up this last year for $200. Even comes with a blue alligator band as well.

Also, since everyone else is doing it, here's my personal watch:

Kinja'd!!!

Citizen Stiletto, also my favorite watch I've ever seen. No colors, no numbers, only a minute hand, hour hand, and a knob that changes where those hands are pointing.

That being said, it does have a party piece or two. First off, it has Citizen's EcoDrive, so the entire face is actually a solar panel that charges the battery (good for 6 months if you live in a cave), and second of all:

Kinja'd!!!

At 5mm thick, you'd be hard pressed to find a thinner watch.

Did someone say watches? Here is a link to my virtual watch collection. A few of these rival the cost of an Aventador. If I ever win the lottery, I'd go broke buying cars, watches and guns. Honestly don't know which I'd start with either.

I can't remember the brand or model, but I saw one the other day at the jeweller that I could've sworn was an inch thick due to all the features they stuffed in it. Not a plastic ghetto watch, but a straight up men's dress watch. I mean, if you can afford to spend multiple thousands of dollars on a watch, you probably have a smartphone that will do everything that watch will, so why not get something, y'know, pretty?

That Hublot Antikythera looks phenomenal.

If I ever win the powerball, I'd need a house with at least a twenty car garage, a landing strip out back for all my vintage warplanes and a subterranean level in the house as a dedicated armory.

Hublot makes some great pieces but some of them are so ugly, they're actually nice. Weird.
